Day 1: SAN PABLO DE VALERA | INC: B/L/
We will start our trip visiting San Pablo de Valera at 2000 m.a.s.l., from where we will start our hike or horseback ride to Gocta waterfalls (2 hours 15 minutes). Along the way, we will enjoy the diverse flora and fauna, and a spectacular view of the waterfall. Gocta waterfall locally known as "The Chorrera", 771 m. tall. is the perfect habitat for toucans, monkeys, and the Andean cock-of-the-rock. Around this waterfall there are 20 more waterfalls. Overnight stay in San Pablo de Valera (Camping).
Day 2: SAN PABLO DE VALERA/ SAN CARLOS | INC: B/L/D
After breakfast, we will begin our walk or horseback ride to the picturesque village of San Carlos (approximately 6 hours), we will go through pre - Inca roads and pass a very well-known and emblematic stone bridge made by Cacique Pantoja at the beginning of the 19th century, during La Serna vice royalty. San Carlos is at 1,900 m.a.s.l. From there, you can appreciate 4 out of 5 waterfalls that are part of Chinata waterfall. Overnight stay in San Carlos (Camping).
Day 3: SAN CARLOS/ CHINATA/ PABELLON/ SHAZUTA | INC: B/L/D
After breakfast, we will go to Chinata Waterfall (1800 m.a.s.l.) (2 hour trip), which consists of 5 spectacular waterfalls. From this point on, we will continue the tour only on foot, with the assistance of carriers, in order to preserve the trail towards the other waterfalls, and it is determined by the community of Cuispes. Then, we will go to Pavilion waterfall, at 1900 m.a.s.l. We will walk approximately 2 hours down a steep path; it has some difficult but safe stretches. Then we will go to Shazuta sector, which is Yumbilla base camp, an area located at 2090 m.a.s.l. (30 min. walk), and approximately 800 meters. Camping in Shazuta.
Day 4: SHAZUTA/ PATA DIABLO/ MEDIO CERRO/ CRISTAL WATERFALL/ YUMBILLA/ SHAZUTA/ CUISPES/ ACHAMAQUI O CHACHAPOYAS | INC: B/L
After breakfast, we will begin our walk towards Yumbilla waterfall (1.5 hr. walk) We will go up by Pata Diablo and Mirador sector for 30 minutes and 2 km. In these trips, the schedule may change according to the visitors' pace and the time they spend enjoying the landscape and the beauty of the area. From Mirador to Medio Cerro (2050 m.a.s.l.) we will hike 50 minutes in a firm footpath. From this place, we will walk for another 15 minutes until reaching Cristal waterfalls (2060 m.a.s.l.). The route is 500 mts. From this point to the 1st waterfall of the Yumbilla Waterfall (2,200 m.a.s.l.) it takes 25 minutes, going up and down. And it is a 800mt hike to the 2nd waterfall, a 45 min. descent. On our way, we will have time to enjoy the landscape and the waterfalls while having a great lunch box. After the tour, we will return to Shazuta, which will be a 3 hour walk, on the way we might see the Cock of the Rocks and other important birds, as well as the spectacular fauna and flora. End of walk and return to Achamaqui or Chachapoyas. Overnight stay depending on the person.
